How Our Process Works

We hardly ever work on a time and materials basis, so if you've come here to get an on-line quote for our hourly rate, you won't find one. We and our clients are much more comfortable with a process that gives them a very good idea of what their project entails and what the final cost for the project will be. We can't say that surprises never crop up that increase the bill, but those situations are quite rare.

Once you contact us, we will likely want to visit your home to discuss your project. We may take measurements and pictures and ask questions to gather data that will help us to recommend a solution for you. Back in our office, we'll prepare a written proposal which we will send to you via e-mail or US mail.

Each repair or remodel is really a prototype – something that has never been done before in exactly the same manner, with exactly the same people, using exactly the same materials in exactly the same place. As such, your main concern should be the caliber and reputation of the people you will be hiring.

From a small repair to a complete remodel, each aspect of a project can be done correctly using quality materials, or it can be done taking short cuts. In many cases, you will not know the difference. In most cases, the price will determine the outcome. Professionals allow enough time to do the job correctly using the right materials. Obviously, trust is a factor here, and that’s where our reputation comes into play. Price does not determine the outcome. Who you hire does. We want to be up front in telling you that we don't take sort cuts. If you’re shopping prices, our price will probably not be the lowest.

We take the time to prepare each proposal considering the unique circumstances of each project, the correct materials for the job, and the time it will take to complete a quality job. All of those factors determine the final price we quote. We want our work and services to be correct and always reflect our reputation. All of this takes time, so we hope you understand if it sometimes takes us a little while to be able to get our proposal back to you.
